VDHA needs all of your voices to make sure our message is heard at the General Assembly on Friday, January 29, 2027 for Lobby Day.
When registering for Lobby, please look up who your legislators are via Link to Find Who's My State Legislator so it can be entered with your information.
Our Lobby Day Orientation will take place on Monday, January 25th at 7:00pm via ZOOM. A link will be sent closer to the date for joining the orientation.
Schedule for the day:
* 8:00am Organization and briefing - Room TBD
* 8:30am-10:00am Legislator visits
* 10:00am VDHA Introductions in House and Senate Chambers
* 11:30am Group Photo (Capital Steps-weather dependent)
Plan your trip:

* Download the ParkMobile App or visit en.parkopedia.com to assist in finding and paying for parking lots and garages near Capitol Square
* There will be LOTS of walking, so wear comfortable shoes! Attire is business casual/weather appropriate.
* Please drive carefully, arrive early, carpool if possible, and always put SAFETY FIRST.
At the Capitol:
* Enter the Capitol building at the Bank Street entrance.
* Everyone must pass through security to enter, and there are no weapons allowed in the Capitol building, the General Assembly building, or on Capitol Square.
* Proceed to Viewing Room
* Sign in, pick up name badges, locate your Group Leader, and pick up Legislator Oral Care kits.
* We will have a brief informational meeting with VDHA’s Advocacy Team and our Lobbyist, break into designated groups, and then proceed to our meetings.
Proceed to the General Assembly Building via the newly constructed tunnel, avoiding inclement weather.
* After meetings with Legislators/Aides conclude, there will be an opportunity to view the Senate and House opening ceremonies from the 2nd floor Gallery. We will be welcomed and introduced to both chambers by a legislator! Time TBD (approximately 10am)
* Return to Viewing Room 3 to return bags and pick up personal belongings.
* Proceed to the front steps of the Capitol Building (outside) for a group photo.
* Capitol Tours are free and can be scheduled at the Tour Desk in the Capitol Extension (Bank Street entrance).
The final Agenda for specific times and locations for activities, and Talking Points/One Pager to familiarize yourselves with VDHA’s agenda bills and topics to discuss during your Legislator visits will be emailed to all registrants as the event approaches.
Please make sure you have your white coat ready as recommended. If you don't have one, this Link Here is to an affordable option for under $20 on Amazon. If you have a purple scarf from previous Lobby Day's, please wear it as we want to show our unified presence on Lobby Day! If you do not yet have one we will be able to present them to you when you check in! (We encourage you to save these so you can use them for future Lobby Day's each year!)
