Marlene Rhodes, BSDH, RDH, CDA
Marlene is a dedicated dental hygienist practicing part-time across multiple offices and serving as an adjunct instructor at Reynolds Community College. A lifelong Virginian, she is a proud graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University's Dental Hygiene Program. Following graduation, Marlene contributed to research demonstrating the cost-effectiveness of maintaining oral health among residents in elder care facilities.
Her clinical work has allowed her to build meaningful relationships with patients, guiding them toward improved oral health while connecting with them on a personal level. For Marlene, being a hygienist is about more than clinical care—it's about trust, compassion, and continuity.
Marlene currently serves as Legislative Co-Chair of the Virginia Dental Hygienists’ Association (VDHA), as well as Financial Liaison and Legislative Chair for the Greater Richmond Component. Deeply passionate about organized dental hygiene, she actively encourages colleagues and students alike to engage with VDHA and ADHA, emphasizing the vital role these associations play in advancing and protecting the profession.
