Hello, it’s so nice to meet you!

My name is Janis Slezak and I am currently serving as the Chair of the Northern Virginia Dental Hygienists’ Component (NVDHC). I am proud to share that we are the largest of the eight active Component groups that make up the Virginia Dental Hygienists’ Association (VDHA). If you are a new member please let me welcome you to our Component and know that we are all very happy to have you with us. If you are an established member thank you for continuing to support our esteemed profession and for allowing me to serve you as Component Chair this year. I am so very excited to begin this journey with all of you.

I believe in the power of great communication. Our board members are always willing to answer questions and offer advice and guidance. I encourage you to reach out to any one of us should you feel the need, or email me personally at janis.slezak@gmail.com.

A note about volunteering: as the VDHA relies 100% on volunteer participation to function effectively there is always opportunity for people to step into new roles. If you think you might be interested in filling a vacant position within the Component or serving as a NVDHC board member please let us know! Don’t be shy! There are lots of different ways to volunteer with us. There are resources available to assist with leadership training as well.
